Services
What we actually do
Ten jobs. Three of them are about the cold, two are about the water table, two are about where the water comes from, and three are the ordinary plumbing every house needs sooner or later.
-
Frozen & burst pipes
The pipe freezes on the cold night and splits at the thaw. Frozen pipe repair here is mostly about houses nobody is standing in.

Water heaters
First question: is the tank yours? Plenty of Ontario houses rent the water heater, and the rental company services what it owns.
Quoted on site Owned tanks only. A rented tank is serviced by the company that owns it -
Drain cleaning
One slow drain is a fixture. Every drain slow at once is the main line, and the main line in an older Collingwood house may be clay or cast iron.

Bathroom & fixtures
Toilets, vanities, showers, tubs and kitchen faucets. The planned end of plumbing, where the shut-off valves and the drain layout decide the price.
Quoted on site Quoted from the fixture list and what is behind the wall -
Sump pumps
The water table under parts of this shoreline sits close to the slab in spring. A sump pump is the machine that keeps it below the floor.
Quoted on site Quoted from the pit, the discharge route and the backup chosen -
Leak detection
A water meter that turns with every tap closed, or a well pump that starts with nobody using water. Both are leaks you can prove before anybody opens a wall.
Quoted on site No measured price band exists for this work here, so no number is printed -
Wells & pressure tanks
Outside the serviced areas the house is on its own well. The pressure tank and switch are plumbing; the pump inside the well is licensed well work.
Quoted on site House side only. Pump work inside a well needs a licensed well technician -
Cottage winterizing
Draining a cottage in October removes the frozen-pipe risk instead of managing it. Opening it in spring is the same job in reverse, with a leak check.
Quoted on site Quoted from the fixtures, the water supply and the water heater -
Backwater valves
A backwater valve lets sewage leave the house and stops it coming back in when the sewer surcharges in a heavy storm.
Quoted on site Usually involves cutting the basement floor; permits are normally needed -
Poly-B replacement
Grey polybutylene supply pipe went into Canadian houses from the late 1970s to the late 1990s. Some insurers now ask about it by name.
Quoted on site Quoted from the length of pipe and how much of it is behind finishes
Talk to a Collingwood plumber
Collingwood Plumbers needs three things: the town, whether the house is on town water or a private well, and what the water is doing. Those three decide most of the job, from who you should actually call, to whether the fix is a valve, a pump or a pipe.
