Where we work, and where the water comes from there
This shoreline is five municipalities and more than five water systems. The supply decides what fails, and the season decides when.
Each page below names the water system for that town, the age of the houses, and the plumbing problem that shows up most often there.
-
Collingwood
Collingwood tap water starts about 765 metres out in Nottawasaga Bay. What happens to it after the meter depends on how old the house is.
-
Wasaga Beach
Wasaga Beach tap water comes out of the ground, not the bay. The same ground sits close under every basement floor in spring.
-
The Blue Mountains
In The Blue Mountains the plumbing is ordinary. The occupancy is not: a large share of the houses stand empty from Sunday night to Friday.
-
Clearview
Clearview runs six municipal water systems, every one on groundwater, and the farms between them run their own.
-
Meaford
Meaford has drawn its water from Georgian Bay since its plant was built in 1959 and 1960. Rural Meaford draws it from wells.
Not sure if you're in the area?
Call and ask. If you are outside what Collingwood Plumbers covers we will say so rather than book you in and cancel — and we can usually point you at someone local who does cover it.
