Plumbers in Clearview
Clearview runs six municipal water systems, every one on groundwater, and the farms between them run their own.
The Township of Clearview owns and operates six municipal residential water systems, and they all draw groundwater. Stayner’s system takes water from four wells, adds sodium hypochlorite to disinfect it and a product to control iron, and stores it in two steel tanks. Creemore’s system draws from two wells.
The Township has posted that the Stayner supply has reached its available capacity, and that new building permits wait on a new well, supply lines and treatment capacity. For anybody planning a new house or an addition with a new water service in Stayner, that is the first conversation, before any plumber.
Plumbing in Stayner
Stayner houses on town water get groundwater with its iron controlled at treatment. Older houses near the main street carry older drains and supply pipe; houses from the 1980s and 1990s may carry Poly-B. Poly-B replacement covers how to tell.
Plumbing in Creemore
The village is on township wells. The farms and rural houses around it are on private wells, and on a private well, "no water at the tap" can be the pump, the pressure switch, the pressure tank, a tripped breaker or a frozen line. Each has a different fix and some belong to a licensed well technician.
Well pump repair around Creemore and Nottawa
Ontario Regulation 903 makes installing a pump in a well licensed well work, needing a Class 4 well technician licence. The pressure tank and switch are plumbing. Well pump and pressure tank service covers the house side and says when to call the well technician.
Testing well water in Clearview
Public Health Ontario tests private well water for bacteria at no charge, using sample bottles from the local health unit. Test after work on the well, after the spring melt, and whenever the taste or colour changes.
Frozen lines on a rural lot
The line from the well to the house runs underground, and where it enters the house it can freeze in a hard winter if the entry is shallow or exposed. Frozen pipe repair starts there when a well house loses water in a cold snap.
Booking work in Clearview
Collingwood Plumbers needs three things: the town, whether the house is on town water or a private well, and what the water is doing. Those three decide most of the job, from who you should actually call, to whether the fix is a valve, a pump or a pipe.
